We start by analyzing the DNA/mRNA encoding your desired protein in order to design PCR/rtPCR primers for the amplification of the sequence. Then we PCR amplify your target for adaptation and insertion into a baculovirus transfer vector. The end result is a bacterial transfer vector containing your gene. The starting material you supply to provide the template can be a tissue sample, culture medium or any other sample that contains the natural protein sequence.
This transfer vector is then cloned and sequenced to confirm its identity and fidelity to the original template. After recombining the transfer vector with baculovirus, your unique recombinant baculovirus is then used to produce your protein of interest in Sf-9 at the 1 liter scale.
Your protein is purified from a 1 liter expression using the purification tag selected for your project and analyzed via SDS-PAGE and western blot. The entire process can be completed in a matter of weeks and is priced to be reasonable for most any development budget (less than $8K per protein - including expression and purification).
As with all of our custom projects, everything we do is documented on your own password protected set of webpages. You have access to the status of our work at any time. Your pages are updated at least once per week with any data relating to your project - including SDS-PAGE and western blot.
