Yes it does. Ultimately the amount and quality of antibody produced in the animal depends on the size, nativity of the antigens and the extent of aggregation. In certain cases smaller peptide antigens have to be conjugated to larger carrier proteins in order to elicit a better immune response. For producing monoclonal antibodies large, highly immunogenic antigens typically result in many hybridoma cell lines from a limited number of  immunized mice. Small, highly conserved antigens often require more immunizations, mice, and screening to select an appropriate antibody-producing cell line.
