Custom Proteins
We offer a variety of custom laboratory services intended to be an extension of your own laboratory. All our custom work is documented online where you have personalized, secure access to your projects - 24 hours a day!
Getting Started
Regardless of the host expression system, you'll have to isolate your gene and insert it into the appropriate vector. We'll do everything necessary to get your gene amplified, adapted and inserted in-frame with the vector initiation site.
Protein Expression Systems
Whether you need microgram quantities for functional assays or need milligram quantities for structural studies, biochemical and biophysical characterization of your protein, we can help. You have the choice of expressing your protein in 5 different expression systems.
Baculovirus
By inserting the gene of interest into the viral vector, it is possible to transfect insect cell lines or complete insect organisms.
Adenovirus
Adenoviral expression systems are increasingly being used as a mammalian cell expression vectors and in the production of recombinant vaccines as they have several advantages over other viral expression systems.
Mammalian
Mammalian cells provide, undoubtedly, the ultimate protein expression system, in terms of appropriate modification, folding, and transport of proteins, especially those intended for human use.
E. coli
E. coli is a well-characterized and widely implemented expression system.
Yeast
Yeasts provide an excellent expression system that shares the prokaryotes' potential for large-scale culture thanks to cheap and simple incubation conditions.
Drosophila
Insect expression systems can represent an adequate compromise between bacterial and mammalian systems.
Protein Characterization and Assay Services
Characterization of the proteins offers a quick and reliable way to determine the purity of the protein sample preparation, number of domains, oligmeric state, pI, post-translational modifications, protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions.
